Our House system encourages and develops inter-house competition, such as sports matches and subject competitions generating House points.  A cup is presented to the House with the greatest number of points at the end of the school year.

Last week's House Competition was linked to Armed Forces Day.

Thank you to those who did take part, but it was disappointing only 13 people entered. Remember week 11 is the final House Challenge, so try and get involved this week.

This week's challenge will be linked to World Chocolate Day, the challenge was set earlier today.

So going into the final week, Shakespeare has just a ten point lead over Gainsborough. So it is all to play for with the final challenge, go on, get involved, represent your House and have some fun baking a chocolatey treat to celebrate World Chocolate Day.

You have one week to make the final difference and win the House Challenge.

The number who took part this week is much lower with 21 entries and only one student in year 9 and year 10. Thank you to those who did take part.

This week's House Competition was to hold a PRIDE party

This week's House Competition was to create a poster to celebrate International Nurses Day. Thank you to everyone who took part, represented their House and celebrated the great jobs nurses all around the world are doing in the fight against COVID-19.

There are some excellent posters, I love the designs and the fact students have linked the History of International Nurses Day to them. I had 42 entries this week.

 WEEK THREE 

This week's House Competition was to create a VE Day Wreath and to put outside your front door out of respect. We had 56 entries, including 5 from staff. Thank you to everyone who took part, represented their House and showed their respect to those who gave so much.

The wreaths have been brilliant, some very creative students and staff who have taken a great deal of time to produce their wreath.

WEEK TWO

This week's House Competition was to bake a cake and link to the COVID-19 outbreak. We had 89 entries, including 6 from staff. It has been a seriously hard task to try and judge it, particularly year 8 the standard was so high.

I have been absolutely amazed by the work students have been sending in, you are seriously talented at baking and decorating cakes. The imagination and creativity shown alongside the respect to key workers is outstanding.

House Competition - Isolation Style - Week One 

WEEK ONE

During school closure, I will be setting a House Challenge each week for students and staff to complete. Each entry will get a point for their house, then there will be bonus points for the top four in each year group.

Week one's challenge was to recreate their favourite sporting moment in their garden. I had 39 great entries showing a variety of iconic sporting moments and students showed imagination and creativity to produce very entertaining videos. 

Some of the entries included, Usain Bolt winning 100m gold, Micheal Phelps winning Swimming golds, Tom Daley diving, lots of football goals, the start of a formula one race, England famous cricket win last summer against Australia, gymnastics, wrestling,  Andy Murray playing tennis and World strongest man just name a few.

So well done to Gainsborough who took an early lead, but it's close.
