What Our Governors Do
The Governors of Marshland High School work in partnership with the Trustees of the West Norfolk Academies Trust. The Trustees have overall accountability for all schools in the trust and monitor the work of each school’s Governing Body. The Trustees manage finance, audit, premises and personnel issues.
The main tasks of the school’s Governing Body are:
- To provide strategic direction for the work of the school.
- To support the work of the school as a critical friend.
- To hold the school to account for the standards and quality of education it achieves.
The Full Governing Body meets three times a year, focussing on the school’s strategic plan as well as monitoring policies and legal compliance. In addition, the Achievement and Curriculum committee meets three times a year, focussing on student performance data, the curriculum and staffing.
The governors at Marshland are very proactive and take a great interest in the detail of school life. They support the school but also challenge it. Governors invite regular feedback from parents and students on how the school is run.
The Clerk to the Governors is Ms Stella Kaye.
If you wish to contact the Governing Body, please address any correspondence to her via the following:

Responsibility for all the academies that make up West Norfolk Academies Trust and for providing education in those academies is entrusted to the Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees have overall accountability for all the schools within the trust and manage all finances (including audits), premises and personnel areas, via sub committees. Work is also delegated to our local governing body whose assistance is greatly valued and supported by the Trustees.
