COVID-19 - School Closure Updates from Marshland High School

Measures in place following announcement that schools will close on Friday 20th March 2020

In Boris Johnson’s update last night, he has informed us that schools will close for all pupils who are not ‘vulnerable’, or children of ‘key worker’ families at the end of Friday 20th March.
We will be in touch with parents/carers directly who are meeting the government's definition of vulnerable.

More guidance on what key worker families will be released later today. At this point we will contact all parents via email/phone to request this information. A prompt response by mid-day tomorrow (Friday) will help us plan for next week.

We are also awaiting further guidance from the government regarding how provision for free school meals will continue. If this affects you, we will be in touch directly when we have further information.
I must stress that the school will still remain open and staffed if you have any safeguarding concerns or require help. Please make contact via the school’s email address: office@marshlandhigh.co.uk or school number 01945 584146 (reduced opening hours may apply).

Teachers have been preparing to provide work online for many days now, students will be able to access this work from Monday 23rd March.   We are already aware of some children who are unable to access online resources at home, and if you have not received printed resources by Monday, please contact us on the details above.

I will write to you again tomorrow with an update so that you are fully prepared for your child, who will be working at home, from Monday 23rd March unless they have been identified as a child of a key worker and/or vulnerable student.

We are also sending recommended individual year group timetables for home study along with helpful notes on how to access all relevant online material and support. (Please see attachments below to view)

Many thanks for your co-operation at this time.
