Rotary Club ‘Young Chef of the Year ‘ Competition

Last term Y10 GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition students competed against each other in planning and making a 3 course meal for under £15 for a chance to represent the school in the Rotary club ‘Young Chef of the year ‘ competition.

Our student Daisy was selected from a final six by John Thorpe, the chairman of the local Rotary club to represent Marshland High School.

On January 22nd Daisy competed at the college of West Anglia against 8 other students from other trust schools and the college. Daisy’s menu of salmon fillet, new potatoes, green beans and a pea puree followed by a lemon drizzle cake was enjoyed by the judges and although not placed in the final three her Lemon drizzle dessert won dish of the day.
