Marshland High School

Christmas Jumper Day raises hundreds

Marshland students dressed up in their best Christmas jumpers to help raise money on a national fundraising day.

We raised more than £250 with donations going to the charity Save The Children.

The entire school, including the staff, are invited to take part in Christmas Jumper Day every year, with parents paying a small donation if their child wants to participate.

This year marked the tenth Christmas Jumper Day, which was started by Save the Children in 2012.

Schools, nurseries, workplaces and families across the country take part in the annual December event.

Thomas Duce, deputy headteacher, said: "Christmas Jumper Day is a fun way for everyone at Marshland High School  to get involved with raising money for Save The Children.

“We like supporting Save the Children as 100% of proceeds goes directly to supporting children around the world who desperately need help right now.

“We have taken part since Christmas Jumper Day started in 2012 and it is a fun way to raise money to help protect the magic for children around the world.

“Today was lovely to see so many of our students and staff getting involved”
