The school has a policy which states that all pupils must wear uniform. This reduces fashion rivalry, helps create a positive self-image and a sense of belonging.
 Jewellery should not be worn, other than a watch, small signet ring and one pair of studs in separate ears only, even these are not encouraged.- Nose studs or rings, eye / tongue piercing etc are not permitted under any circumstances.
- Excessive make-up and nail varnish may not be worn.
- No pupil should wear to school any item of jewellery worth more than £10.00.
- All pupils’ hair should remain a natural colour and the style of the hair should not make the pupil stand out.
- There is only one rule concerning length of hair, and that is that a haircut which leaves a child totally bald is not acceptable.
- Valuables such as radio controlled cars, pocket computer games etc should not be brought to school.
- Drinking water may be carried by students during the day and may be consumed during lessons but only if the teacher allows this.
- Water should be carried in reasonably small, clear plastic bottles.
- Nothing other than water is allowed.Cigarette lighters, cigarettes, matches or aerosols may not be carried by students at any time.
 School Uniform

Pale blue polo shirt with House colours - trim on the collar and arms. Heron Logo and Marshland High School on the breast.

Plain, straight-legged, black trousers not fashion trousers, or black skirt of a reasonable length around the knee, not denim or cord. Belts must be plain black.

Plain black v-necked jumper or sleeveless pullover with Heron and Marshland High School in House colours.

Plain black shoes, not trainers.

A watch with your name on

A single plain ear stud or pair of plain ear studs (pair means one in each ear). Any pupil, who comes to school with any other style of earring or piercing, will be required to remove them.
PE Kit

Training shoes for indoor use, not Astroturf trainers as they damage the floor

Training shoes suitable for outdoor use

Football boots or similar for outdoor wear

Students may not wear any clothing with logos/stripes/badges other than the school’s own marked clothing.

The school provides all other equipment, e.g. hockey sticks etc
