| Governors |
The full Governing Body meets six times a year when they decide generally the direction in which the school is going, in line with its policies. They receive reports from sub-committees which deal with particular subject matters in the school including parental complaints, discipline, admissions and other standard items such as buildings, finance, staffing etc. and of course they receive a report from the Headteacher about progress in the school itself. Anyone can be appointed a Governor subject to certain legal exclusions. The Governor’s monitor the progress of the school via a number of committees. The Governors at Marshland are very proactive and take a great interest in the detail of school life. They support the school but challenge it also. They have a Complaints Policy which fully supports parents’ views and complaints, however informally put across to the school. The Complaints Committee will look at a complaint if a complainant is dissatisfied with how it has been initially handled. Apart from formal complaints Governors have a constant feedback from parents and pupils on their views on how the school is run, from of course the parents’ and pupils’ point of view. Meet the Team
‘Effective leadership and management by the Headteacher,
senior and middle leaders enable students and staff to do well’.
