Learning
Maths01Learning is achieved through practising skills, activities and exploring rich open – ended tasks. We offer lunchtime ‘drop-in’ help for any student from any class to see any available staff. There are also after – school maths clubs aimed at particular groups of students.

In year 7 we embark on the GCSE course starting at a stage appropriate to the student. Stages are then completed, and assessed internally, to progress to a final GCSE examination sat in January or June of Year 11, with many students sitting the Foundation papers in January and extending their expertise by sitting the Higher papers in June. Students will sit a Double GCSE called a Linked Pair Pilot. During this time they will study Number, Algebra, Shape & Space and Data Handling.

In addition we offer Statistics, and for gifted and talented students, an alternative Additional Maths course as a bridge to AS Level.

To ensure that all students leave Marshland with a Maths qualification we enter some students for Entry Level Maths.
